Lady Gaga wins GLAAD Awards

Lady Gaga won the outstanding music artist prize at the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) media awards in Los Angeles on 24th March. Lady Gaga and TV Show “Dancing with the Stars” were among the winners at the event.

GAGA FIGHTING FOR GAY STUDENTS

Seven students from the Harvard University were booted out in the year 1920 be they suspected as being gay. They will be recalled in a protest at the campus outside singer Lady Gaga’s presentation of the Born This Way Foundation.

A group of students from Harvard and faculty known as ‘Their Day in the Yard’ is asking the college to give degrees to the expelled students who were booted out almost 90 years ago.

GAGA REVEALS INFLUENCES

Lady Gaga reveals that she has always been a massive fan of the Sheffield Rockers Def Leppard. The ‘Born this way’ singer states that she got hooked to the band since her childhood when her father, Joe Germanotta, used to play the records of Def Leppard at her family home in New Jersey.

Lady Gaga admits having a lot of Def-Leppard Style melodies in the choruses. She has a lot of rock influences on her album, is not rock music but is an electronic dance album.

GAGA THE MOST PLAYED ARTIST

Lady Gaga has officially become the most played artist in the United Kingdom on air. Lady Gaga, famous for her controversial outfits and flamboyant concert performances, also had the No 3 most played record with Alejandro, another single from the same album. The runner-up spot was taken by Alicia Keys's Empire State of Mind.

The previous year's chart was topped by Lily Allen, who has since retired from the music business citing the pressures of fame. Such a thought is unlikely to trouble Lady Gaga – known as "mother monster" to her fans (who are the "little monsters") – any time soon.

GAGA NEARLY BANKRUPT

Lady Gaga has said that she was nearly left in $3 million debt after he Monster Ball tour. The pop superstar launched her second series of live concerts in 2009 and has spent two years touring the show. Described as "the first-ever pop electro opera", the tour was announced after an intended joint tour with Kanye West was suddenly cancelled.

Since the Monster Ball tour began, Gaga has performed the show more than 200 times, grossing over $US227.4 million.

GAGA GIVEN NEW $40K SLIPPERS

Lady Gaga has been presented with a new $ 40,000 worth slippers by the Wizard of Oz. The Born This Way singer, who performed with the famous shoes at her LA Monster Ball show on her 25th birthday, was allegedly given the slippers from the cult 1939 movie by her management, before going on stage at the Staples Center.

According to The Sun, GaGa told her Little Monsters that she once auditioned to play the role of Dorothy in a show, but lost out on the part to the school bully.

The 25-year old explained: "I wanted to be Dorothy so bad. I was in 8th grade and she was a senior."

GAGA AS GODMOTHER

Elton John and David Furnish’s baby boy's will be having Pop diva Lady Gaga as his godmother. Film producer Furnish let slip in a recent interview that the couple are lining up the Bad Romance hitmaker to play an important role in the life of their two-month-old son, Zachary, born on Christmas Day via a surrogate mother, reported gossip blogger Perez Hilton. When asked about rumours they would choose Gaga as the godmother, Furnish said, “We haven’t publicly confirmed that yet but your sources are very good!”

GAGA PERFORMING AT GRAMMYS

Fresh off the release of "S&M," one of two new singles stemming from "Loud," Rihanna has been tapped to perform at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards !

Joined by Drake, who shares the chart-topping single "What's My Name ?" with her, Rihanna was announced as an addition early Wednesday to a growing list of performers that includes Lady Gaga, Usher, Lady Antebellum, Justin Bieber, and Eminem.

Cee-lo Green and Gwyneth Paltrow have also been added.

GAGA GOES FUR-FREE

Lady Gaga, Pink, gary from Metallica, and Mariah Carey have been confirmed as the stars of this year’s People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals [PETA] ‘fur-free and fabulous’ anti-fur ad campaign.

The choice of Gaga will come as a surprise after PETA publicly criticised the raw meat dress she wore to the VMAs, declaring it “offensive.”

GAGA GNOME DUET?

Elton John and Lady Gaga have joined forces for a duet called “Hello Hello.” The song was written by John and Bernie Taupin for the Touchstone Pictures movie “Gnomeo & Juliet,” however the track only appears in the movie (out in theaters February 11th) and not on the soundtrack (in stores February 8th).

On the soundtrack you will only get a version of “Hello Hello” sung by Elton John himself. Are you bummed about this?
